About Department:

The Department was started since the establishment of the college in 1956. It had notable teachers like Professor Kurian Abraham and Professor John Alexander. Students who have passed B.A. with history as one of their subjects have established themselves in various fields.

About Subject:

A training in history proves to be of immense benefit from the perspective of Competitive Examinations like the UPSC and the MPSE. Besides, the subject also offers excellent prospects to conduct stimulation research in diverse related fields. It is an interesting career option in the face of numerous recent approach.

Activities:

Along with regular classes, the department organises paper presentation by the students, intra college PPT Competition, Group Discussion, Inter collegiate Debate, Study Tour etc. The department has two interdisciplinary associations – HES (History English Society) and ECOSTRY (Economics and History Association) to organise Guest Lectures on various interdisciplinary topics and recent trends in respective subjects to make the students aware of the latest developments. The Department has organised one University Level, One State Level and one National Level Seminar.
